Handrail Provisions
A.5.1Handrail height: 700 mm min, 900 mm max above ramp or stair nosing surface.
A.5.2Horizontal extension: 300 mm beyond top and bottom of ramp. The extension shall be parallel to the floor surface.
A.5.3Handrail diameter: 30 mm (1‑3/16") to 40 mm (1‑37/64"). Graspable profile for continuous grip.
A.5.4Minimum wall clearance: 50 mm. Brackets do not obstruct gripping surface.
A.5.5Handrails shall be continuous, with no sharp edges, and return to the wall or floor at both ends to prevent clothing catch.
